Learn How to Stay In Front of the Graphic Novel Wave

Overwhelmed with graphic novels? Having a challenging time keeping up with demands and finding it hard knowing what’s age appropriate? You are not alone and we can help! We know this is a tricky area and some of us don’t even “get it.” Come hear how to use graphic novels in your libraries and classrooms to tap into student’s creativity by joining us for a lively discussion to learn how to promote and grow this viable reading choice in your collection.

Tuan Nguyen received his MLS in 2011 and co-founded the Maverick and Little Maverick Graphic Novel Reading Lists for the Texas Library Association. He has presented workshops and sat on many graphic novel panels, including several Regional Educational Service Centers, TLA's annual conference, ALA's annual conference and the San Diego International Comic Convention. He is currently working on an Educator’s Guide to Graphic and Highly Illustrated Novels. Tuan is a huge advocate of libraries, librarians, and getting the right resources into kid’s hands and meeting them at their interest level and needs.
