Meeting the Needs of ELs with Disabilities: An Educator’s Overview

The focus of this session is to develop a foundational understanding of the challenges that English learners with disabilities face in the classroom.
Participants will
-understand the language acquisition stages of English learners and how learning behaviors present at each stage,
-learn the characteristics of the 13 Disability Categories, and
-gain knowledge, understanding and practice of strategies tailored to scaffold instruction for English learners with specific learning disabilities.

A campus team composed of one Bilingual/ESL Teacher, one Special Education Teacher, and one Instructional Leader.
