During the MORNING, ABDO author Dr. Duchess Harris will be our guest speaker. She has authored several books on race, culture, and American history. Dr. Harris will speak to us about her book Hidden Figures and share the personal story about her grandmother who was one of the early NASA human computers. We will also hear from Alma Salinas, La Joya ISD's Library Services & Instructional Resources Director about how she has creatively used ABDO's ebook QR codes to provide reading opportunities on her district school buses. In the AFTERNOON, we will move on to the topic of librarians providing professional development on their campuses, which is part of our new state standards and guidelines. You will learn about a couple of resources we currently have available in our cooperative. Then you will learn about Professional Development at Its Best! You will walk away with ideas to implement engaging, personalized professional development back at your campus.
