Texas Prekindergarten Guidelines and the Highly Engaged Classroom (for Roma ISD)
The learning experiences of the early years provide a foundation that guides the growth of children in all aspects of development. The experiences most certainly influence the rest of a child' educational progress. The guidelines delineate the behaviors and skills that children are to exhibit and achieve, as well as instructional strategies for teachers to implement in a highly engaged classroom. The thoughtful and meaningful activities and experiences provided by teachers in a prekindergarten year can deliver a strong foundation for success in future classrooms. Prekindergarten teachers will engage on hands-on activities to promote strategic ways to stimulate children's curiosity and to learn more about the world around them, in the midst of their important discoveries.
