The Writer's Notebook - Grades 7-12 (*OPEN to All Districts)
Complete Attendance not available before workshop starts.
In this session, the teacher will learn to facilitate student learning through a mini-lesson that focuses on grammar, usage, and mechanics that will be immediately applied during writing time. The goal of the writer’s notebook is to make grammar instruction a seamless part of the reading and writing connection through mini-lessons and written responses to teachers-selected and self-selected texts. Teachers will walk away with a notebook that includes focus skills, mentor sentences, areas of emphasis, and writing samples to share with students. The notebook will be a useful way to lay the foundation for the rigor of the new ELAR TEKS.
