A Step Toward Improving Quality and Rigor

Are you facing challenges when it comes to crafting PLAAFP and IEP goals and objectives for your current students, using data sources and the four essential elements? Are you looking to guarantee that your goals are not only demanding but also demonstrate strong, pertinent, and attainable outcomes? Do you aspire to have the confidence that you are comprehensively documenting the ongoing progress of your students with significant cognitive disabilities throughout the entire year? If so, this workshop is tailored to meet your needs!

During this half-day in-virtual training session, participants will be guided through the IEP Quality and Rigor Rubric, which has been developed in collaboration between the Texas Complex Access Network (TX CAN) and TEA.
Following the completion of this training, attendees will have the opportunity to enroll in follow-up coaching sessions conducted by Region 2’s TX CAN network member.
Upon finishing this training, participants will:
• Gain a deep understanding of crucial IEP components, including PLAAFP, Goals/Objectives, and Progress Monitoring Methods.
• Apply the Quality & Rigor Rubric to evaluate the PLAAFP, Goals/Objectives, and Progress Monitoring sections of IEPs.
• Develop PLAAFPs, Goals/Objectives, and Progress Monitoring Methods that are rigorous and of superior quality.

Please ensure that you have access to 2-3 of your current students' PLAAFPs and IEPs, as we will reference, reflect, and assess them throughout the training.
