This dramatic shift means understanding and supporting students on the spectrum is more crucial than ever. In this hands-on workshop, you'll learn practical strategies to connect with and appreciate the unique abilities and learning styles of students with ASD. I'll share effective approaches that have consistently led to success across all grade levels, drawing from my extensive experience. This training is perfect for all educators—general and special education teachers alike—who want to boost their skills and confidence in supporting students with ASD. Join me to discover new strategies and create pathways to success for your students. Get ready to learn, engage, and be inspired!

This Texas Education Agency-designed training is intended for campus leaders, administrators, and other educators who influence school culture, including counselors, social workers, teacher leaders, instructional coaches, and staff supporting highly mobile and at-risk student populations. This includes students identified under McKinney-Vento (experiencing homelessness), Migrant Education Program (MEP), and foster care. While restorative practices benefit all students, they are especially impactful for students experiencing high mobility, disrupted schooling, and instability in their living situations. These students often face challenges in building consistent relationships and maintaining a sense of belonging—making intentional, relationship-centered practices essential. Through a focus on Community Building Circles, Respect Agreements, and I-Message techniques, this 6-hour session will provide clear guidance, real-life examples, and practical tools for implementation. Participants will leave equipped to create supportive, inclusive environments that help stabilize and engage students who need it most. PRE-WORK WILL BE REQUIRED PRIOR TO THE SESSION. Training Objectives: - Develop foundational skills to implement community-building circles that foster belonging and connection, especially for students experiencing mobility and instability - Learn strategies to build strong, trusting relationships between students and educators, and among peers - Strengthen capacity to support student self-regulation and voice through the use of Respect Agreements and I-Messages - Apply restorative practices in ways that are responsive to the unique needs of McKinney-Vento, Migrant Education Program, and foster care students

Empower Your Students with multiple disabilities through Active Learning! Are you an educator working in an adaptive learning environment, supporting individuals who are functioning at the fundamental levels of learning? If so, this transformative 3-day workshop is designed just for you! Active Learning is a research-based approach developed by Dr. Lilli Nielsen, specifically for learners who function developmentally below 48 months—regardless of their chronological age. This approach is especially effective for students with significant physical, cognitive, and emotional challenges, including those with cerebral palsy, visual impairments, autism, hearing impairments, and multiple disabilities. Many learners with complex access needs often become passive observers in their own world, relying on others for interaction. Active Learning changes that! This approach empowers students to take charge of their learning by creating environments that spark curiosity, encourage independence, and promote meaningful engagement. Join us to discover simple yet powerful strategies that will transform how your students explore, interact, and thrive! Day 1: Principles part 1 Day 2: Principles part 2 Day 3 Assessment, Implementation, Documentation, Materials, Equipment

The Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) will host in-person workshops for school districts that utilize a Food Services Management Company (FSMC). The training workshop will provide an in-depth overview of the contract management process, including solicitations and/or renewals, contract management, and contract monitoring. Attending this workshop is critical for the SFA representatives and those responsible for contract oversight. Each district is required to send one representative. In the afternoon, TDA will have staff resources available to assist districts individually with the development of RFP documents for the 2026-2027 school term and to address any specific concerns and questions. To receive the best guidance and assistance, you can bring and/or be able to access your current contract, meal count data, revenue for the Child Nutrition fund, specialized specifications (if applicable), and any other provisions that you would like incorporated into your solicitation documents. Because procurement requirements will be discussed, food service management companies are not allowed to register or attend.
