Our ESC Collaboration has been putting Texas school-based SLPs first since 2012. Join us in learning all year long through ten exceptional online opportunities. Reinforce your current knowledge and add new tools to your tool box. In collaboration with ALL twenty Education Service Centers, we deliver highly relevant topics that impact SLPs every day; all conveniently accessed from your location. Behavior—it’s everywhere, and as SLPs, we see it impact communication daily. But let’s be real… navigating behavior can sometimes feel like decoding a secret language. In this interactive, 3-hour virtual session, an SLP and a BCBA team up to break down the essentials of behavior science in a way that makes sense for speech therapy. We’ll tackle common behavior myths, decode tricky situations, and give you practical strategies to manage challenging behaviors while keeping communication at the heart of it all. Expect real talk, real strategies, and maybe even a few “aha!” moments along the way. Let’s bridge the gap and make behavior work for us, not against us!

The TED is an employee in a district or charter school who is designated as the primary contact for transition and employment services for students with disabilities in special education programs. This employee must be able to provide information and resources about effective transition planning and employment services to school staff, students, parents/guardians, and agency providers. By participating in this workshop, attendees will build a factual foundation for the teaching of civics through the close study of primary sources, focusing on the fundamental moral, political, entrepreneurial, and intellectual pillars of the American experiment in self-government. Participants will analyze the founding documents of the United States and the history, traditions, and features of civic engagement that define our national heritage. By mastering strategies for civil discourse, media literacy, and simulations of governmental processes, educators will depart equipped with the professional tools to lead classroom and campus instruction that fosters a commitment to and an appreciation of the United States and its exceptional form of government. Beyond professional enrichment, attending this session ensures your campus remains fully compliant with the Texas Legislature’s mandates for professional development. Texas Senate Bill 3 (SB-3) requires that each school district and open-enrollment charter school ensures every campus has at least one teacher and one principal who has attended an official civics training program. Completion of this program ensures that your leadership team is fully prepared to implement the frameworks for the teaching of civics as explicitly required by state law.

Over two decades ago, when I started teaching, the statistic for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) was 1 in 10,000. Today, it's 1 in 33. This dramatic shift means understanding and supporting students on the spectrum is more crucial than ever. In this hands-on workshop, you'll learn practical strategies to connect with and appreciate the unique abilities and learning styles of students with ASD. I'll share effective approaches that have consistently led to success across all grade levels, drawing from my extensive experience. This training is perfect for all educators—general and special education teachers alike—who want to boost their skills and confidence in supporting students with ASD. Join me to discover new strategies and create pathways to success for your students. Get ready to learn, engage, and be inspired!

This Texas Education Agency-designed training is intended for campus leaders, administrators, and other educators who influence school culture, including counselors, social workers, teacher leaders, instructional coaches, and staff supporting highly mobile and at-risk student populations. This includes students identified under McKinney-Vento (experiencing homelessness), Migrant Education Program (MEP), and foster care. While restorative practices benefit all students, they are especially impactful for students experiencing high mobility, disrupted schooling, and instability in their living situations. These students often face challenges in building consistent relationships and maintaining a sense of belonging—making intentional, relationship-centered practices essential. Through a focus on Community Building Circles, Respect Agreements, and I-Message techniques, this 6-hour session will provide clear guidance, real-life examples, and practical tools for implementation. Participants will leave equipped to create supportive, inclusive environments that help stabilize and engage students who need it most. PRE-WORK WILL BE REQUIRED PRIOR TO THE SESSION. Training Objectives: - Develop foundational skills to implement community-building circles that foster belonging and connection, especially for students experiencing mobility and instability - Learn strategies to build strong, trusting relationships between students and educators, and among peers - Strengthen capacity to support student self-regulation and voice through the use of Respect Agreements and I-Messages - Apply restorative practices in ways that are responsive to the unique needs of McKinney-Vento, Migrant Education Program, and foster care students

Empower Your Students with multiple disabilities through Active Learning! Are you an educator working in an adaptive learning environment, supporting individuals who are functioning at the fundamental levels of learning? If so, this transformative 3-day workshop is designed just for you! Active Learning is a research-based approach developed by Dr. Lilli Nielsen, specifically for learners who function developmentally below 48 months—regardless of their chronological age. This approach is especially effective for students with significant physical, cognitive, and emotional challenges, including those with cerebral palsy, visual impairments, autism, hearing impairments, and multiple disabilities. Many learners with complex access needs often become passive observers in their own world, relying on others for interaction. Active Learning changes that! This approach empowers students to take charge of their learning by creating environments that spark curiosity, encourage independence, and promote meaningful engagement. Join us to discover simple yet powerful strategies that will transform how your students explore, interact, and thrive!
