(Virtual) McKinney-Vento & Foster Care: Bridging Systems to Support Students in Transition

Complete Attendance not available before workshop starts.

This session provides a comprehensive overview of how schools can best support students who are impacted by both foster care and homelessness. Participants will explore the legal intersections of McKinney-Vento and foster care provisions under ESSA, clarify roles and responsibilities, and engage with practical tools and strategies to improve educational stability and coordination across systems. Through case scenarios and collaborative discussion, liaisons and other staff will walk away with actionable practices to enhance identification, enrollment, and support for these vulnerable student populations.
