Mathematics Achievement Academy - Leadership-Based Implementation Support for grades K-3

Complete Attendance not available before workshop starts.

The purpose of this training is to build knowledge and understanding in instructional leaders of the importance of representations, conceptual fluency, and procedural understanding with additional and subtraction of whole numbers so that they can support their teachers who have completed a K-3 Mathematics Achievement Academy with implementation. Instructional leaders will have the opportunity to practice coaching moves to support appropriate facilitation of the use of representations and encourage instructional opportunities for developing conceptual understanding and procedural fluency. Instructional leaders will also build their understanding of the significance of formative assessment as demonstrated in the Mathematics Achievement Academies. Opportunities to practice coaching moves to support using formative assessment data to inform next steps in mathematics instruction will also be afforded.
