Join us for an engaging seminar that explores pivotal moments in American history through the lens of the Bill of Rights Institute’s curriculum, Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness. In this session, we will delve into three significant periods: the Great Depression, the World War II era, and decisions made in the 1960’s. During the first part of the session, we will examine the decisions made during the Great Depression, a time of economic crisis that profoundly impacted the lives of Americans. Through interactive discussions and activities, participants will analyze the policies and actions taken by the government to address the challenges of the era. We will also delve into the World War II era, a time of global conflict that tested the resilience of the American people. Through engaging conversation and primary source analysis, participants will explore the decisions made by the government. We will critically examine the balance between national security and individual liberties. Finally, we will focus on the decisions made in the 1960’s, a transformative decade marked by social and political upheaval. Through interactive discussion and lessons, participants will explore key events such as the Civil Rights Movement, the Vietnam War, and the expansion of individual rights. We will analyze events that shaped the course of American history and advancing the principles of equality and justice. This session will provide teachers with an opportunity for modeling activities, ready-made lessons, and discussion over the role of government, balance between security and liberty and the ongoing pursuit of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness in American society.
