Bilingual Assessment for Monolingual Evaluators: Organizing, Assessing, and Interpretation

The intersection between a specific learning disability and second language acquisition
presents several challenges to the evaluation team. Evaluating students from diverse
cultural and linguistic (CLD) backgrounds requires a specialized set of knowledge and skills
to be employed when evaluating CLD students. This session will address
additional considerations and provide tools to assess this population. The
materials in this session can also assist districts in developing local policies for identifying CLD students.
