Inquiry & Rigor in the 6-12 Social Studies Classroom (6hr GT Update) (July)

Complete Attendance not available before workshop starts.

In G/T, Inquiry is fostered through a curriculum and classroom that encourages students to explore topics deeply, ask probing question, and engage in independent research. Rigor, on the other hand, is upheld through challenging coursework, critical thinking exercises, and opportunities for advanced learning, ensuring that gifted students are consistently pushed to achieve their full potential. In this workshop, teachers will learn how to implement Inquiry and Rigor in their Social Studies classroom as an extension to their learning. Teachers will also learn how to implement the Texas Performance Standards Project as part of their classrooms to ensure Inquiry and Rigor amongst their G/T Students. Teachers will also be given the opportunity to participate in a Lunch & Learn with Britannica and will learn how to use Britannica so that they in turn can ensure their students have the resources necessary for the TPSP.
