Mental Health in the Education Setting

This four-hour workshop is designed for anyone that is involved in an educational setting from the Superintendent of a School District, Counselors, Athletic Trainers, Food Service Personnel, and Bus Drivers. The class is broken down into three separate sections. The first hour encompasses signs and symptoms of stress that anyone that is under a great deal of stress may be exhibiting. Participants usually come away from this hour with an awareness of the stress that they might be under. The second hour discusses how our region is not alone in the struggles within education. We can put some statistical information behind how our educators feel. Finally, the last part of the class will discuss Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM). We introduce the concept of CISM to the participants and participate in a mock debriefing that is relatable to everyone in the room.
