Youth Mental Health First Aid

Youth Mental Health First Aid teaches you how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges among children and adolescents. Training is full day. Includes a workbook, role-play, and interaction with participants utilizing the ALGEE Mental Health First Aid action plan to help children and youth with mental health challenges.

House Bill 3 - A school district shall require each district employee who regularly interacts with students enrolled at the district to complete an evidence-based mental health first aid training program designed to provide instruction to participants regarding the recognition and support of children and youth who experience a mental health or substance use issue that may pose a threat to school safety.

Facilitated by Ms. Kaitlin Sullivan- Mental Health First Aid Training Coordinator from Nueces Center for Mental Health and Intellectual Disabilities. No fee ($0) for this workshop for up to 30 participants. Upon completion, you receive a certificate valid for 3 years from the date of this workshop.
