Understanding the Writing Expectations for the STAAR Exam - Skidmore

Complete Attendance not available before workshop starts.

This training is designed to assist teachers with understanding the specific writing needs of the ELAR elementary state assessment. We will not only clarify the definition of a successful short and extended constructed response in accordance with the state assessment writing rubric, but also review student samples provided by teachers. Finally, the training will suggest strategies and activities that will support quality writing in the classroom while offering teachers the opportunity to create a planning calendar leading up to the state assessment. This is a great workshop for teachers looking for new approaches to the exam.
