Safety Planning Intervention

Safety Planning Intervention is a brief intervention intended to provide people who are experiencing suicidal ideation with a set of concrete strategies to use in order to decrease the risk of suicidal behavior. The safety plan includes coping strategies that may be used and individuals or agencies that can be contacted during a crisis.
This training will review the steps in building a safety plan tailored to an individual's specific needs that includes identifying warning signs, developing coping strategies, and listing support contacts and safe places. Safety Planning is an evidence-based brief intervention.
