Building Literacy Through Lived Experiences: Interactive Books for Learners with Complex Needs

Explore how Experience Books and Book in a Box literacy activities can transform daily routines and sensory experiences into meaningful literacy instruction. Participants will learn how to integrate assistive technology and differentiation strategies to support communication, engagement, and emerging reading skills for students with significant cognitive, physical, and communication needs. This workshop will include guided, hands-on time for participants to create and adapt experience books and interactive materials that can be immediately implemented and taken back for use during instruction.
