(PLEASE NOTE: This is a virtual session held via Zoom) Take a deeper dive into the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act and explore how its provisions intersect with Texas education law and district practice. This intermediate-level session is designed for staff who already have a working knowledge of McKinney-Vento and want to strengthen implementation in their schools. Participants will review key topics such as the Texas Family Code, truancy and discipline considerations for students experiencing homelessness, and how to communicate effectively with families about their rights. The session will also highlight vetted websites, tools, and community resources to support compliance and improve student outcomes.
