Serving Military-Connected Students: Mobility, Strengths, and Rights Under MIC3 (Virtual)

Complete Attendance not available before workshop starts.

Military-connected students often experience frequent moves, school transitions, parental deployment, and social-emotional stressors that can impact academic success—many of which mirror challenges faced by other highly mobile student populations. This session will help district and campus staff better understand the unique experiences of military-connected students and families while also recognizing the resilience, adaptability, and leadership strengths they often bring to school communities. Participants will explore protections under the Military Interstate Children’s Compact Commission, including enrollment, attendance, placement, graduation, and extracurricular eligibility rights, and leave with strategies to better support military families during transitions.
