Leading AI in Education: Governance, Innovation, and Best Practices

This workshop provides school district leaders and educators with a practical introduction to Artificial Intelligence (AI) in K-12 education. Participants will explore the history of AI, understand the benefits and risks of generative AI, and examine current legislative, governance, and policy considerations impacting schools.

The session will introduce commonly used AI tools and technologies, provide an overview of how AI systems work, and demonstrate practical applications that support productivity, communication, and instruction. Participants will also learn foundational prompting techniques and strategies for responsible AI use.

Participants will leave with a better understanding of AI and actionable guidance for implementing AI responsibly within their district and classrooms.
