CCISD: Specially Designed Instruction/ Math RBIS

Complete Attendance
available in:

This session is designed to support meaningful access for students with disabilities to receive on-grade level instruction through the effective use of HQIM, high expectations for instructional leadership, and effective and strategic staffing. Participants will develop an understanding of research-based mathematics practices and identify common misconceptions in mathematics instruction. Regardless of the curriculum or instructional materials used, effective mathematics instruction requires balancing conceptual and procedural understanding to promote true mathematical rigor, prioritizing depth over coverage by focusing on the most critical grade-level content, and ensuring coherence so that mathematical concepts build logically within and across grade levels. Grounded in productive struggle, these instructional shifts provide students with regular opportunities to solve problems, engage in meaningful discussions about representations, and write to explain, justify, and revise their mathematical thinking.
