Secondary Backwards Design Planning with TEKS resource System - Waskom HS

Complete Attendance

Participants will learn about the processes of Backwards Design. Part 1 covers how do we identify the desired results for a unit using the TEKS Resource System Instructional Focus Document. Part 2 covers how we can provide evidence that students have mastered the material of the unit and what should that mastery look like when aligned without desired learning outcomes. We will explore the TEKS Resource System Unit Performance Assessments and Assessment Center for resources available to TEKS Resource System users to meet this Backward Design goal. Part 3 examines supports within TEKS RS, and associated support systems of Implementing teksrs.com and TExGUIDES, to build tightly aligned lesson plans reflecting the goals and rigor of the unit. Teachers will use this knowledge in planning units for the upcoming school year.
