The Power of Children's Literature in Math Grades 3-5

Learn how children’s literature can help Grades 3-5 students be problem solvers! We will explore how stories can engage students in building critical reasoning, abstract thinking, and communication skills, all while helping students understand the relevance of math in their everyday lives. Come explore literature and see how language and literature are critical for building problem-solving mathematicians. Also we will explore how depth and complexity integrated with authentic math opportunities can engage and enrich your gifted students and foster a thinking culture for all students. This session satisfies the state requirement for the annual G/T 6-hour update.
