Abilities Instead of Disabilities-Awareness Training 23-24

All students are unique and have individual strengths and weaknesses. According to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary ability is the power or skill to do something, and disability is a condition of being unable to do something in a “normal” way. But what is the normal way of doing something? Come identify and nurture the individuality of disabilities and the many ways disabilities impact students, families, and educators. You will be linked to multiple resources to create your own Disability Awareness Snapshot Binder. Information such as the 13 categories of disabilities, classroom instructional strategies, advocacy help, tips for parent and teacher communication, etc., will be discussed to assist you in creating a collaborative learning environment. (Laptops needed).
Attendees will be able to participate in this webinar in their district via the Zoom link provided in the registration confirmation email.
