G/T 6-Hour Update: Literature and Mathematical Inquiry

Complete Attendance not available before workshop starts.

Join us for an engaging and interactive workshop that combines the magic of literature with the power of mathematics to nurture critical thinking skills in elementary students. By examining literature though a math lens, we will uncover hidden mathematical connections and challenge participants to think critically about math in new and exciting ways. Explore how picture books can be used to promote critical thinking and problem-solving skills through mathematical inquiry and investigation and how math integration can enhance the comprehension of literature including story structure, character development, and themes. This workshop is ideal for K-5 educators who want to enrich their students' learning experiences and promote interdisciplinary connections. Bring your favorite literature pieces to share and explore how this approach can guide students to develop a deeper understanding of both math concepts and the art of thinking critically. This workshop satisfies the state requirement for the annual G/T 6-hour update.
