Assessment and Intervention for Students with Dyslexia 23-24

This workshop will focus on both assessment and evidence-based interventions for students who struggle to learn to read and spell because of dyslexia. Dr. Mather will address the importance of assessing different cognitive and linguistic processes, including phonological awareness, orthographic coding, processing speed, and rapid automatized naming; the phases of development of basic reading and spelling skills; and the implementation of differentiated instructional methodologies for addressing specific types of reading and spelling problems. In addition, she will describe the recently published Tests of Dyslexia (Mather, McCallum, Bell, & Wendling, 2023).
