2024 Mathematics Achievement Academy: Problem Solving and Discourse for 3rd Grade (Half-Day/Face-to-Face)

Complete Attendance not available before workshop starts.

Through hands-on activities focusing on 3rd-grade student expectations, this training is designed to strengthen participants’ knowledge of problem-solving and discourse. In this training, teachers will identify the actions of a proficient problem solver and build knowledge and understanding of mathematical discussion that complement the use of a problem-solving heuristic. Additionally, teachers will build knowledge and understanding of formative assessment strategies that focus on making student thinking visible to the teacher and build knowledge and understanding of five practices that support mathematical discourse to strengthen student voice and agency with a problem-solving heuristic.

This academy determines a $100 stipend eligibility by assessing the following criteria: a confirmed job/grade assignment as per AskTED records, verified attendance at the corresponding grade-level Original Mathematics Achievement Academy, and completion of two half-day training sessions along with a twelve-hour online course.
