PBIS Tier 1 - Classroom Management 24-25

Complete Attendance not available before workshop starts.

The Texas Education Agency's (TEA) T.I.E.R. Network (Tiered Interventions using Evidenced Based Research) has developed guidelines for the implementation of school-wide Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS). PBIS is an evidence-based, three-tiered framework to improve and integrate all data, systems, and practices to support students' needs. The PBIS framework identifies classroom management as a key piece of universal behavior intervention. The implementation of evidence-based classroom management interventions, such as well-defined expectations and procedures, can prevent challenging behaviors in the classroom. Participants will hear Texas' guidelines for implementing universal PBIS strategies and take a deep dive into classroom organization and behavior management techniques to reduce inappropriate and off-task behaviors and create a positive behavior support system to improve student behavioral outcomes. This workshop is ideal for new general and special education classroom teachers and experienced teachers looking to improve their PBIS implementation.
