2024-2025: Original Mathematics Achievement Academy, Grade 3 for Tyler ISD (Day 2 of 3)

This three-day academy for grade 3 will cover effective and systematic instructional practices in mathematics. Outcomes include the following:
Build knowledge and comprehension of robust mathematics understanding
Explain learning progressions and identify critical checkpoints for (a) whole number operations based on place value and (b) fraction concepts
Analyze instructional components that develop fluency and number sense
Evaluate instructional components to address diverse learners’ needs
Identify and apply assistive technologies that support conceptual and procedural understanding, problem-solving proficiency, and formative assessment
We will experience these outcomes through the grade-level topics of the following:
Whole number addition and subtraction
Multiplication and division of whole numbers
Fraction concepts
There is no stipend attached to these sessions due to the dates of the academy that fall during contract times for teachers.
