Missouri, Dred Scott, and the Coming Civil War: Presented by Teaching American History

Presented by Teaching American History: The Civil War was the result of decades of issues, ideas, and actions by individuals and groups, across a less than 100-year-old America. In this seminar, teachers will explore the connection between emerging ideas about slavery and race, and a Supreme Court decision that contributed to the causes of the Civil War.

Attendees will receive reading materials before the workshop. 8 CPE hours are earned for this workshop. 2 to 3 hours of reading before arrival at the workshop and 5 hours of attendance.

All attendees of this free professional development will receive lunch, a letter of attendance as well as paper and digital copies of the reader. This workshop is open to all Region 7 districts and charters.
