Building Your Mental Health Toolkit: Grief and Loss

Complete Attendance not available before workshop starts.

In this session for K-12 counselors, we will take an in-depth look at grief. ASCA estimates that more than 5.6 million U.S. children are bereaved. More than 200,000 children have lost parents or caregivers to COVID-19 alone. One in 13 children will experience the death of a parent or caregiver by the age of 18. We will discuss the stages of grief and developmentally appropriate responses. We will work with various tools and resources to help grieving students, and we will discuss how to work appropriately with grieving students both individually and in groups. This is an in-district workshop for Central ISD only.
