Classifying Well for the DOL and other Agencies 24-25

Jennifer Powell, an attorney from Eichelbaum, Wardell, Hansen, Powell, & Munoz, P.C., will join us to present regarding current employment topics. The DOL, IRS, TWC, and even immigration officials focus intensely on employee classification issues. Employers are being audited by these agencies regarding whether workers are properly classified as contractors/contract labor/consultants versus employees. It doesn’t matter how the workers say they want to be treated or the label you give them. Whether or not someone should be classified as an employee is a legal question. And if errors are made, penalties can be high. This session will equip administrators with the knowledge and tools to properly classify workers.
