Empowering Writers: Using Mentor Texts to Develop Self-Regulation Strategies

Complete Attendance not available before workshop starts.

This session explores how to integrate mentor texts into writing instruction to help students develop self-regulation strategies that improve their writing skills and confidence. Participants will learn how to use mentor texts as models for genre, style, and structure while explicitly teaching students to plan, monitor, and reflect on their own writing processes. By combining the power of exemplars with metacognitive strategies, educators will foster independent, self-regulated writers equipped to tackle diverse writing tasks.
