Teachers Institute - Introduction to Wireless Technology

Complete Attendance not available before workshop starts.

The Teachers Institute on Wireless Technology introduces schoolteachers to the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math connections of wireless technologies. The TI program is filled with lectures, hands-on activities, and demonstrations to inspire teachers to inspire their students by using tools and strategies to introduce basic electronics, radio science, satellite communications, Amateur Radio, and electronic sensors to their students.

The goal of TI-1 is to introduce teachers to the basics of electronic principles, radio frequency propagation, and antennas. Teachers will gain knowledge through classroom instruction and apply the knowledge in various hands-on experiences, including circuit building, antenna building, soldering, and fox hunting. Teachers will return to their classrooms with equipment to implement in their instruction, including a handheld directional antenna and a Software Defined Radio. Amateur Radio licensed teachers will also receive a Fox transmitter and two HT radios. There are license testing opportunities during this program.
