Behavior Strategies for Escape and Avoidance Behavior 25-26

Do you work with students who frequently avoid tasks, refuse instructions, or attempt to escape challenging situations? This interactive workshop is designed to equip educators with practical strategies to address and manage escape and avoidance behaviors effectively. Participants will learn to identify the underlying causes of these behaviors, explore proactive techniques to prevent them, and practice evidence-based interventions to foster engagement and cooperation. Topics include functional behavior assessment (FBA), reinforcement strategies, visual supports, and modifying environmental triggers to reduce avoidance tendencies. Through real-world examples and group discussions, attendees will gain the confidence to create positive, individualized behavior plans that empower individuals to succeed in challenging situations. This workshop is primarily for Brownsboro ISD.
