This course provides training on nutritional standards for competitive foods, such as Smart Snacks, as well as the operational requirements to ensure compliance with program regulations.
Objectives:
1. Define federal regulations for competitive foods sold outside of the National School Lunch Programs (NSLP) and School Breakfast Program(SBP).
2. Identify criteria for determining which foods and beverages can be sold in schools during the school day.
3. Utilize available tools to ensure compliance with regulations and access helpful resources for planning.
