Text Complexity and Comprehension

Complete Attendance not available before workshop starts.

This workshop provides educators with a comprehensive understanding of text complexity and its role in literacy instruction. Participants will explore the three dimensions of text complexity: quantitative measures (e.g., Lexile levels), qualitative factors (e.g., text structure, language clarity, and knowledge demands), and reader and task considerations (e.g., student background and instructional purpose). Through interactive activities, educators will learn how to evaluate texts, match them to student needs, and plan effective instruction that builds comprehension and critical thinking.
