The Ready Bodies, Learning Minds© (RBLM) program emphasizes the powerful and essential connection between motor and sensory development and the ability to perform the many tasks necessary for independence, behavioral control, and academic achievement for all students. The results of an action study involving approximately 200 students and the Ready Bodies Motor Lab will also be discussed, as well as classroom strategies. We recognize physical activity is important to learning, but why? And how do we address this in schools? RBLM explores our physiological systems within the context of the Dynamic Systems theory, the theory of Embodied Cognition, and our current culture of education.
