Stories that Count 1.0: Sparking Mathematical Thinking Through Literature

Complete Attendance not available before workshop starts.

Step into a workshop where numbers meet narratives and math becomes a lens for rich classroom discussion. In this session, we’ll explore how thoughtfully selected picture books can launch mathematical inquiry, spark problem-solving conversations, and deepen critical thinking. Participants will experience hands-on investigations that connect story elements - such as patterns to mathematical thinking. This K–5 session is ideal for educators seeking fresh, interdisciplinary ways to engage gifted learners and enrich classroom discourse. You’ll leave with ideas, strategies, and book pairings that invite students to explore math in unexpected and meaningful ways. This workshop satisfies the state requirement for the annual G/T 6-hour update.
