What Students Bring to Middle School Math: Strengthening Number Sense & Fluency

Complete Attendance not available before workshop starts.

Students enter middle school with strategies and representations from their K–5 math experiences. Some students come with strong visual models and flexible reasoning, while others may still be developing these foundations. In this session, teachers will explore common elementary representations and strategies that support computation with whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and integers, and learn how to build on what students already know to strengthen fluency and understanding in middle school classrooms.
