AI Alliance - Student AI Literacy: Responsible Use in Classrooms

Complete Attendance not available before workshop starts.

As students gain access to AI tools, districts must ensure they are prepared to use them responsibly, ethically, and effectively. This session focuses on developing student AI literacy, including critical thinking, digital citizenship, and appropriate academic use.

Participants will explore what students should know about AI at different grade levels, including how AI works, its limitations, and how to use it as a tool for learning—not a shortcut. Leaders will examine strategies for embedding AI literacy into existing curriculum and discuss how to address challenges such as misuse, plagiarism, and equity of access.

The session emphasizes shifting from restriction-based policies to empowerment-based practices that prepare students for a future where AI is ubiquitous.
