Workshop Registration Details

The Texas Education Agency's (TEA) T.I.E.R. Network (Tiered Interventions using Evidence-Based Research) has developed guidelines for the implementation of school-wide Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS). PBIS is an evidence-based, three-tiered framework to improve and integrate all data, systems, and practices to support students' needs. The PBIS framework identifies classroom management as a key piece of universal behavior intervention. The implementation of evidence-based classroom management interventions, such as well-defined expectations and procedures, can prevent challenging behaviors in the classroom. Participants will hear the Texas guidelines for implementing universal PBIS strategies and take a deep dive into classroom organization and behavior management techniques to reduce inappropriate and off-task behaviors and to create a positive behavior support system that improves student behavioral outcomes. This workshop is ideal for new general and special education classroom teachers, as well as experienced teachers looking to improve their PBIS implementation. This workshop focuses on early childhood through 6th-grade classrooms.
