Workshop Registration Details

Do you work with students who frequently avoid tasks, refuse instructions, or attempt to escape challenging situations? This interactive workshop is designed to equip educators with practical strategies for effectively addressing and managing escape and avoidance behaviors. Participants will learn to identify the underlying causes of these behaviors, explore proactive techniques to prevent them, and practice evidence-based interventions to foster engagement and cooperation. Topics include functional behavior assessment (FBA), Antecedent-Based Interventions, reinforcement strategies, and effective response methods to reduce escape and avoidance behaviors. Through real-world examples, attendees will gain the confidence to create positive, individualized behavior plans that empower individuals to succeed in challenging situations. Participants are highly recommended to attend Behavior 101 as a prerequisite for this workshop or be knowledgeable about foundational behavioral principles such as ABCs, reinforcement, extinction, etc.
