"Don't Tell Me No!": Strategies for Access-Driven Behavior 26-27

Complete Attendance not available before workshop starts.

Many challenging student behaviors are driven by a desire to access preferred items or activities. Understanding the function of these behaviors is key to effectively supporting students in meeting their needs in appropriate and constructive ways. This workshop is designed for educators, school counselors, behavior specialists, and administrators who want to deepen their understanding of behavior as communication. Participants will learn evidence-based strategies to identify behaviors motivated by access, reduce problematic behaviors, and teach students alternative, socially acceptable ways to request what they need. Participants are highly recommended to attend Behavior 101 as a prerequisite for this workshop or be knowledgeable about foundational behavioral principles such as ABCs, reinforcement, extinction, etc.

Attendees will be able to participate in webinars in their district via the Zoom link provided in the registration confirmation email.
