AI Foundations: AI Literacy for Students

Complete Attendance not available before workshop starts.

As artificial intelligence becomes increasingly present in students’ academic and personal lives, educators play a critical role in helping learners understand how to interact with these tools responsibly and thoughtfully. This session focuses on building student AI literacy by exploring practical strategies for teaching students how AI systems work, how to question and evaluate AI-generated information, and how to use AI as a tool for thinking rather than a shortcut. Participants will examine age-appropriate classroom approaches for discussing AI limitations, bias, and ethical use while developing clear expectations for responsible student engagement with AI. Educators will leave with practical ideas and instructional strategies they can implement immediately to help students become informed, critical, and responsible users of AI.
