AI Foundations: AI Literacy for Students

Complete Attendance not available before workshop starts.

AI isn’t going away, but neither is the need for student thinking. This session focuses on helping educators teach students how to use AI in ways that enhance learning rather than replace it. Participants will explore practical classroom strategies for turning AI into a thinking partner, including using it for idea generation, feedback, revision, and skill-building. The session emphasizes helping students interact effectively with AI, refine their thinking, and maintain ownership of their learning. Through hands-on examples and classroom-ready ideas, educators will learn how to model strong AI use and establish clear expectations for responsible engagement. Participants will also explore age-appropriate ways to address AI limitations, bias, and ethical use. Educators will leave with immediately applicable strategies to help students think critically, stay creative, and use AI with purpose.
