This workshop explores how small group instruction serves as a powerful, evidence-based practice within the Science of Teaching Reading. Participants will learn how to use assessment data to form purposeful groups that target specific student needs in phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension.

Teachers will examine what effective small group instruction looks like in action, including explicit teaching, guided practice, and immediate feedback. The session emphasizes the importance of systematic, responsive instruction that accelerates student learning and closes gaps.
