Building Writers with the Science of Literacy

Complete Attendance not available before workshop starts.

This workshop explores how to develop strong, confident writers by grounding instruction in the Science of Literacy. Participants will learn how writing is deeply connected to reading, oral language, and foundational skills, and how these elements work together to support student success.

Educators will examine evidence-based practices for teaching writing, including explicit instruction in sentence construction, text structure, and the writing process. The session highlights the importance of integrating phonics, vocabulary, and oral language to strengthen students’ ability to communicate ideas clearly and effectively.

Through practical strategies, modeling, and classroom-ready routines, teachers will leave equipped to build daily writing opportunities that reinforce comprehension, deepen thinking, and support all learners. The workshop emphasizes how intentional, structured writing instruction can transform students into purposeful and proficient writers across content areas.
