Deliberate, Purposeful, Responsible, and Efficient Norm-Referenced Test Selection 26-27

Complete Attendance not available before workshop starts.

Too often, norm-referenced test selection becomes routine rather than intentional. This session reframes assessment planning as a deliberate, purposeful, responsible, and efficient process grounded in a thorough understanding of existing data, including classroom performance, intervention response, progress monitoring, educational history, and work samples. When we know a great deal about a student before testing begins, our decisions become sharper and more defensible. Test selection will be guided by two core principles: A) Does this assessment tell me something we do not already know? B) Will this assessment provide meaningful insight into how the student learns? Through case studies and guided practice in test selection, participants will apply these principles to real referral questions, reduce redundancy, and ensure that every administered measure meaningfully contributes to understanding the learner.
Attendees will be able to participate in this webinar in their district via the Zoom link provided in the registration confirmation email and professional development records.
