Understanding Autism Through MIGDAS 2, A Guided Overview 26-27

Complete Attendance not available before workshop starts.

The Monteiro Interview Guidelines for Diagnosing the Autism Spectrum-Second Edition (MIGDAS-2) is a qualitative interview process that helps evaluators individualize the diagnostic process for children, adolescents, and adults. Through systematic interviews with parents, caregivers, teachers, and the individuals being evaluated, a narrative description of differences in the autism brain system is developed. This session will provide participants with tools to conduct a sensory-based diagnostic interview with individuals whose communication skills range from verbally fluent to functionally nonverbal, using the MIGDAS-2 system and protocols.
Objective: Participants will practice describing individuals in positive, descriptive terms rather than in the deficit-based terminology commonly used in special education evaluations.
Attendees will be able to participate in this webinar in their district via the Zoom link provided in the registration confirmation email and professional development records.
