Wired for Learning? Understanding How Trauma, Disability, and Technology Shape Student Behavior 25-26

Complete Attendance not available before workshop starts.

Today’s classrooms are more complex than ever, and student behavior often reflects deeper neurological and developmental influences rather than simple defiance. This engaging and practical workshop helps educators understand how adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), disabilities, and constant exposure to technology can impact brain development—and in turn, influence attention, emotional regulation, and behavior in the classroom.
Participants will explore how stress and trauma affect the brain’s ability to learn, how various disabilities can alter processing and responses, and how technology use can shape focus, impulse control, and social interaction. Through real-world examples and educator-friendly explanations of brain function, this session connects neuroscience to everyday classroom challenges.
Educators will leave with a stronger understanding of why students behave the way they do, along with actionable strategies to respond effectively, reduce disruptions, and create supportive learning environments that meet the needs of all learners.
Attendees will be able to participate in this webinar in their district via the Zoom link provided in the registration confirmation email and professional development records.
